Horsetooth Falls Trail: Remembering Lucy

Lucy still had that puppy smell. Even at ten years old and even as she lay in the dimly lit room at the vetinary hospital. The room with the Kleenex box you hope to never visit.  Continue reading “Horsetooth Falls Trail: Remembering Lucy”

Around Town: In Search of the Perfect Starter Hill

My grandma’s house in St. Louis had the best double hill. At family gatherings my brother, cousins and I scavenged the basement for cardboard and took turns sliding down.  Maybe we did it in the snow? Arthur’s Rock Trail: You Win Some, You Lose Some

National Public Lands Day: Tanglewood Natural Area

We scoured the brand new Tanglewood Natural Area in the search of trash. It took a couple hours, but we found a pair of socks, a glass jug, some plastic planters, a few pieces of paper and a partial garden hose. We also found a bathtub, but that wouldn’t quite fit in our bag. Continue reading “National Public Lands Day: Tanglewood Natural Area”

Upcoming Event: National Public Lands Day

I am so thankful to live in an area that deeply values its natural areas. And what better way to show appreciation than to volunteer and help maintain these little pockets of nature throughout town on National Public Lands Day. Continue reading “Upcoming Event: National Public Lands Day”
